We get asked a lot "what is crowdfunding, why are you using it?" and oddly enough "is it at all like crowd-surfing because I'm not interested?"
The easy answer would be crowdfunding are websites like Kickstarter.com and Indiegogo.com, which for you are definitely not like crowd-surfing but for us there's some similarities...figuratively speaking....
Let me explain,
We've given a brief history of Havlar and what we're about but ultimately we need your help to get this bird off the ground. Startups are expensive, especially when they're self funded but working together we can definitely do it via.....drum roll... crowdfunding!
From the 30,000 foot view, Google defines crowdfunding as "a way for people, businesses and charities to raise money. It works through individuals or organizations who invest in (or donate to) projects in return for a potential profit or reward".
Makes sense right!?
In layman's terms, we're going to offer you sweet, sweet discounts that make the offer too good to refuse and in return you'll provide us with pre-orders to help fund this bird off the ground.
This gets you an amazing product at a fantastic discount for being in on the ground floor, an early innovator, and provides us with some revenue to break thru those initial high costs.
A win - win right!?
It's definitely going to be a roller coaster and we look forward to the adventure, but we believe we've created an amazing product that will help you take your valuables anywhere with confidence.
After all, no one wants to be a victim to snatch and grab theft, ugh.
Have you ever purchased anything off Kickstarter or Indiegogo? We'd love to hear about your experiences or answer any other questions you may have.
More updates to come : )
